This is to say a very big THANK YOU to you and your devoted husband, Mike.
Thank you for coming on out to Mount Claremont and chatting to our Western Suburbs VIEW club ladies on Wednesday 22nd June 2016.
Thank you for all the trouble that you went to set up your tables and bring along all your own equipment so that we could have a visual feel for the books and the characters in them.
The ladies certainly enjoyed your talk and the flashbacks to times that were so real in their memories.
It certainly is true that West Australian stories need to be told and it is also true that when they are told and become a recaptured corner of our once forgotten WA past they pull particularly strongly on the heart strings of most folk.
You were a delightful guest and speaker with a lot of bounce and appeal. You held the interest of our ladies and kept us all talking about your books for a long time after you had left.
You definitely left us wanting to know what gems each book held.
A big THANK YOU to both of you. Without Mike, this journey would not have begun.
Without you, these tales would not have been recorded.
What a team !
Thank you for sharing your very personal experiences
Kind regards
Sandra Netscher, WSVC - Programme Organiser 2016

What a breath of fresh air you are Linda. This morning I have just been entertained, educated, enlightened and intrigued by listening to you about your true stories ‘Wishes For Starlight’ and 'Secrets Mothers Keep’ as you addressed our group of passionate life lone learners.
We all have busy lives but as these books are based on early WA pioneers and early WA towns it is refreshing to have you take me back to those days.
Thank you for keeping my mind active and bringing enjoyment to my soul.
I cannot wait for your third book, ‘The Apple-Core Wars’.
Until next year
Margaret from U3A Armadale, March 2016.

'Linda, you are doing such an amazing job bring the story behind your novels out to clubs such as ours. Everything you do is so professional and enjoyable, the signage and presentation are superb, and the involvement of Mike was wonderful to see, may it long continue!!
Please use my endorsement to spread the word.
Best wishes best wishes to you and Mike (keep up the good work).

NB There are no planned theatricals coming up at this stage.

What better way to bring a historical fiction novel to life than to listen to a live theatrical book reading, enhanced by haunting guitar melodies created for the book.Narrator Author Linda Bettenaywebsite

This performance of chapters from Linda J Bettenay’s book: ‘Secrets Mothers Keep’ has been playing to full houses across Perth over 2014 and will have limited performances planned for 2015.

‘At the Going Down of the Sun’, is an extract from Linda's first book, and is performed by Bree Hartley and Michael Forman of the Roleystone Theatre with narration provided by author Linda.  The evening includes live music by Kim Bettenay.  The performance features actors reading letters from a sweetheart to her soldier boyfriend in Gallipoli.  It brings the audience to tears. 2014 is the centenary of the embarkation of our first troops heading to WW1 and this performance is bringing this historical period to life.

Rarely have I seen a crowd so enthralled by a performance; from the back I could see that not a single person made a move throughout the performance. Guitarist Kim Bettenay truly is a musical genius, the way he ‘knitted’ segments together was wonderful and I even more like his little background chords that were so much in tune with the highs and lows of the spoken word presented by the performers. Your collaboration worked its magic!  It has been a pleasure and honour, to have been involved with ‘At the Going Down of the Sun’.
